Living in a large family affords you one thing and that's a multitude of relatives. It seems that when we are small we tend to spend more time with relatives. Most of us played with our cousins when we were young or spent summers visiting with an aunt or an uncle. As we mature the only time we get to see these people is at family reunions.
Most large families find their members spread across the country, in many cases all over the world. Without family reunions these people would never get the chance to see each other, or to catch up. They are a wonderful way to share good news and to spend time with those who are elderly.
If you're fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the people who helps to organize these events, than you've probably struggled with finding appropriate family reunion invitations. In recent years many families are choosing to go the high tech route and send out invitations to the family reunions through email. This is not only an effective way of making certain that everyone who needs to be there is aware of the time and place, but it also is the least expensive way.
Many families have different traditions they follow when it comes to these gatherings. It might be that each person has to bring a food item to the family reunions. Trying to feed dozens, or in the case of a large family, hundreds of people can quickly add up. The first idea is to have the shirts made before the event. They could be emblazoned with the family name as well as the date of the reunion. A special touch on these types of family reunion t shirts might be the picture of the family patriarch or matriarch.
If you'd prefer something more personal, a fun and inexpensive approach is to purchase plain shirts and some permanent markers. One thing my family does is one day each month we get together at the local buffet diner and have a "Birthday Party" for everyone who's birthday is during that month which makes for a great way to keep in touch and have fun together.
