They even have toys made by the Gospel House Located in the remote village of Madampe, about 50 miles from Colombo, Gospel House works with young men, those most at risk in Sri Lanka’s political uprisings. The youth receive wages, as well as end-of-the-year profits. Approximately 100 young men work for Gospel House. In the process, the men learn valuable job skills such as operating a lathe, painting, polishing and sanding wooden toys. The earning opportunities through Gospel House are approximately three to four times higher than the pay would be for equal work elsewhere.
