Lipizzaner Stallions will visit Springfield on Friday March 30th and Saturday March 31 they are on their 37th Anniversary Tour.
This years show will focus on their history and how the Lipizzaner breed was developed. From their start as a war horse for knights, to the breed of choice for Medieval aristocracy, to their current role as a form of equestrian art. Lipizzans prance, march and perform their "Airs Above the Ground" an equine ballet of maneuvers that date back over 400 years. These performances end with the Grand Quadrille where 8 stallions step through the paces of the highest level of dressage in an intricate formation choreographed in perfect time to music.
The Shows will be at 7:30 pm on Friday and 2pm and 7:30pm Saturday.
