Spring Event - A Naturescaping Symposium and Native Plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday April 7th at the Springfield Conservation and Nature Center
Naturescaping is landscaping that allows people and nature to coexist. By using native plants into your yard, you can attract insects, birds, and other creatures and Naturescaping is much easier than traditional landscaping. Getting exotic flowers, trees, and grasses to grow where they are not supposed to takes a lot of energy, chemicals, and plain hard work. Native plants, on the other hand, do very well in the local Springfield area without sprinklers or fertilizer.
Learn what plants grow well in the shade and in the sun, in the wet and in the dry, what species look good together, and how plants arrange themselves without any help from us. By using native plants to attract butterflies and songbirds, you will use less water and spend less time maintaining your garden, lawn and landscaping.
Native plants will be on sale through the day from local nurseries.
This free event is open to all ages.
No registration is required.
