A Whole New Meaning to a Wrap Party

in

Wrapping the Christmas presents are many peoples favorite part of Christmas. However, it can be difficult to wrap your family presents when the family is right there. Or you may just prefer to have people around when you wrap. No matter the reason a Christmas wrapping party can be fun.

You can either decide before you being how long it will last or the number of presents. You can even choose to wrap till your fingers fall off. You can also pick just one persons home or you can alternate homes. You may even want to break it down further by wrapping all sons’ presents at one house, all daughters at another to be followed by husbands/wives.
It can be fun to pick a theme for wrapping presents, perhaps all white wrapping with different colored bows and ribbon. Or even wrapping that is something personal for everyone. Someone partial to Texas may choose a western theme to their presents, or if California is a favorite you can wrap them in over the top Hollywood style. If your child loves dogs, pick some paper to use as a dog theme, or whatever type animal is preferred.

If you are hosting the wrap party make sure that you have supplies on hand. Scissors, tape, cards, bows, ribbon, etc. Maybe you have some paper from last year that you do not plan on using this year, bring it out. Maybe someone else can use it to create something special for them. Actually any type of “scraps” can be useful, like using felt to cut out designs, small pieces of braided cord for ribbon, even old Christmas cards can be used as tags or to decorate a package. Even if you feel that no one could possibly use something, bring it anyway. Perhaps it is something they have been looking for or maybe they have a great idea for using that you can try too.

It is a good idea to have refreshments on hand, just finger food and drinks so no one has to go through a big effort. Some people enjoy having a little “spiced” eggnog, which isn’t bad at all and you should see how some of the presents that are wrapped last turn out. It can prove very interesting.

A bright light or well lit area is a good idea also so there is less eye strain as well as hopefully avoiding mishaps with the scissors. Consider having a little Christmas music playing in the background to help everyone get into the Christmas spirit, maybe singing along.

It can also be a good idea to leave a present or two at someone else’s house until Christmas. That is not meant to imply that anyone’s child would go through their home trying to find out where mom hid their presents or anything. No not at all, not me mom! However that can also be useful for driving your kid nuts. For instance, if you were to hide some presents where you know they will look and make sure none of them are for them it tends to make them a little worried. If you have other children just make sure their name is on the gifts, it doesn’t really matter if they are for them, just remember to change the tags later. All those presents and not one for them, it may sound a little cruel but it can be pretty funny. Parents have a sense of humor too you know.
